Job Description:

  Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes.  Maintain and manage any cost reduction programs.

Responsible:

Develops, evaluates and improves manufacture methods.

Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Creates and implements routings, standards, and production procedures including visual aids and work instructions.

Confers with design staff concerning design and development of new products to ensure efficient production methods.  Coordinates the implementation of new products into production.

Coordinates design and build of mechanical and test equipment and evaluates according to specifications and quality standards.

Ability to read, understand automation controls including Programmable Logic Controls, Robot, Operator Display

Identify when automation controls need to be enhanced and provide scope of work.

Aid in troubleshooting complex systems with multiple controllers and various communication methods ( ie.  Ethernet, Profibus, Serial )

Can study and improve automation systems to provide desired production and quality levels. 

Understanding of pneumatic and electrical controls.

Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information of management decisions.

Analyzes capacity and develops plans for new equipment.

Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and other considerations to facilitate production processes

Responds to production line problems regarding equipment, processes, and materials.

Manage facility safety, environmental and statutory compliance programs including reporting and permitting.
